Volunteer Driver / Community Driver required to drive our vehicles and also help local groups who use our transport and require drivers.

We offer free transport to cancer patients and where possible their escort to all hospitals and clinics in Glasgow, Edinburgh and throughout Ayrshire. Patients are collected from their homes, accompanied to hospital and taken home again after treatment. This service is especially useful for patients who feel unwell, those living in rural areas, the elderly and parents taking their children for treatment. We also provide transport for the hospice and to appointments for all therapy sessions. We can only ensure to continue the service with the support of our volunteer drivers. If you can commit to a few hours of driving and waiting for patients every week or fortnight or every month, please consider volunteering with us. To safeguard both service users and drivers, we require all volunteers to be PVG checked and we do require volunteers to own a vehicle (MOT & insured) and have a clean valid driving license. We will reimburse mileage expenses for volunteers.

Twechar Healthy Living & Enterprise Centre are looking for a volunteer driver to drive a van to help deliver soup to elderley residents in Twechar. There will another volunteer in the van helping to take the soup to the door. Every Thursday between 11.30am -1pm. Must have full clean license and be between 25 years and 69 years for our insurance

To drive across various locations within the Scottish Borders, to collect/drop off vulnerable and isolated service users living with a neurological condition, who would otherwise not be able to attend our activities. • To ensure those most isolated/vulnerable, can attend our activities and groups, through supporting our collection service. • Driving to various pick up locations within the Scottish Borders, using your own vehicle, or our leased car. • Ensuring our service users arrive at activities, and back home safely. • Help those who are most disadvantaged from missing out. Time commitment - an average of 2-3 hours per week.
