Glasgow Wood is a Social Enterprise and Charity established in 2007. We are committed to reducing the amount of wood needlessly going to landfill by finding creative and socially inclusive ways to reuse this valuable natural resource.
Volunteers are at the heart of GW, playing an active and valuable role in all aspects of the enterprise. Volunteers do not need to have previous experience, just a willingness and desire to help and get involved.
We are looking for enthusiastic retail volunteers to:
Assist customers and provide a friendly welcoming service
Complete order forms with customers
Assist customers who are in to pick up completed orders
Ensure stock levels are sufficient
General housekeeping of retail space
Adhering to all Health and Safety procedures at all times
Relevant training will be given to retail volunteers to ensure that they are confident and prepared before they start dealing with customers.
We have volunteering opportunities Monday - Thursday 9.00am - 4.00pm, Friday 9.00am - 3.00pm and Saturday 10.00am - 4.00pm. These hours can be flexible to suit the volunteers' needs.
If you are interested please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call and provided with a Board Chair Recruitment Pack. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on info@volunteerglasgow.org
The GWRP aims to provide a wood recycling service that diverts waste wood from landfill and reduces our impact on the enviroment . Through this activity we aim to create quality volunteer and training opportunities that advance citizenship and help people move in to employment.
