Description

The Comradeship Circles service enables socially isolated older members of the veterans communities to enjoy comaraderie with others who share an armed forces background in regular and facilitated telephone group calls. The purpose of your role is to welcome members to the circle and support the facilitation of the circle and involve members in the group discussions and conversations.

Frequency and commitment details

1-2 hours per week at the same time each week.

Restrictions

Experience required: Knowledge and appreciation of the veteran's community and Armed Forces culture. Communication: active listening and clear speaking. People skills: the ability to interact effectively with a range of people. Caring and friendly nature to help people feel comfortable and encourage their active participation. Access to a landline or mobile phone to dial into circles. An understanding of and commitement to equal opportunities.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Training details: Attend Age Scotlands induction training, including Older Veteran's Awareness training. Complete further training to support you in your role.
