Description

This is a wonderful opportunity to work with and befriend adults with additional support needs.
The PHAB Club is a registered charity and offers a range of activities in a social setting. Volunteers offer friendship and help facilitate members to engage in craftwork, computing, music and cooking. The club also organises social events such as a meal out, Christmas party and panto nights.

The club takes place during school term time only

Organisation aims and objectives

The main aim is the integration of people with additional support needs into the local community. We have a range of activities involving those with additional support needs and the able bodied members of the club working side by side. (a) To encourage the integration of the physically handicapped persons resident in the area and thus to relieve the isolation of such persons by bringing them in to closer association with able-bodied people and by the provision of, or assistance in the provision of, facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of such persons. (b)To advance education by bringing disabled people in to closer association and integration with able-bodied people so that the former will have opportunities for overcoming their disabilities and the latter will benefit from such association and integration. The advancement of citizenship or community development, The provision of recreational facilities, or the organization of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, The promotion of equality and diversity, The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes.
