Birch Tree Garden is a new community project offering fresh fruit and vegetables to the food poor in the community. They also provide training days for locals within the Falkirk area, which will include gardening rural skills (preparing a fleece to wool/felt), wood crafts, willow weaving, basket weaving, coppicing, wellbeing, cookery, animal husbandry, admin skills, and basic stock keeping and bookkeeping.
As the organisation is new, the volunteer roles are quite informal.

While this role is open to young people, any under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Experience required: No skills required as training will be given. However, volunteers with specific skills relevant to the volunteer roles available are welcome to apply and utilise their skills.
Travel details: Opportunities will take place at Birch Tree Farm, Church Road, California, Falkirk, FK1 2BD. Volunteers can travel to to the area by car or public transport, but will need to walk up the farm track to reach Birch Tree Farm, as there is no vehicle access on the track.
Minimum age: 12
