Description

We are looking for practical people who will help us to maintain the general upkeep of HMS Unicorn for our visitors now and in the future. This will be done through cleaning and other practical tasks on board the ship and on the dockside and approach to the ship. There will also be the opportunity to assist the Maintenance Officer with longer ongoing projects on board the ship.

You will develop an enthusiasm for our historic ship and knowledge of its layout and structure as well as practical skills in keeping it clean and presentable. Volunteers will be given relevant training and supported in these activities.

The key tasks will include:

• Sweeping the decks
• Weeding and maintaining the garden areas in the dockside
• Maintaining the windows and gun ports
• Cleaning out different areas of the ship
• Carrying out other practical tasks as directed by staff

To apply get in touch with our Volunteering, Engagement and Learning Officer, Caroline Taylor, at caroline@hmsunicorn.org.uk (preferred) or 01382 200900. You will be asked to fill out a short application form followed by a quick informal interview.
