  • VO90340

Description

seescape social groups provide people living with visual impairments in Fife the chance to get together with others, receive peer support and enjoy company and activities. They are setting up a new Kirkcaldy based social group which will meet on a regular basis to provide a lifeline for people who are affected by visual impairments locally. It’s likely the group will meet on a Wednesday afternoon 2-4pm at Hayfield Community Centre in Kirkcaldy (fortnightly to begin with, no meetings over summer school holidays (i.e. July-17 August 2022)
Tasks can involve: escorting clients where required, providing sighted assistance at venues, preparing and serving refreshments, welcoming new members, having a chat, helping other volunteers organise and facilitate activities, making sure participants can enjoy activities safely and offering assistance where needed.
It is expected that as a volunteer you will be able to commit to regular attendance, travel independently to and from venues, be warm and friendly as well as using initiative where required to help with the overall smooth running of the group.
