Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: We have an online claim form where volunteers can manage their own expenses claims – or they can be claimed through their named contact person. In most cases we will try to pre-book travel for volunteers, so they are not out of pocket. We pay for public transport and pay 45p per mile for petrol.
Training details: Excellent support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. All our volunteers will get a general induction to Diabetes Scotland – covering safeguarding, who we are, values and mission – and further to that they will all receive role specific training to begin their roles. Ongoing through their time with us we will identify, source and deliver training to our volunteers on a number of topics. Iain French will be the named contact for the volunteers and will arrange and conduct 1-2-1’s with the volunteers on a regular basis to check in and provide support.
