Could you help reduce the loneliness and social isolation of an older person by becoming a volunteer driver? LinkLiving need drivers to take people to and from their (socially distanced) social cafe at Torryburn Community Centre. The cafe offers older people the chance to meet others for a chat over a cuppa. They also offer quizzes and a range of other activities.
Your role would be the first point of contact with their members, getting to know them and building a positive relationship. This involves:
The project aims to reduce social isolation in older people by recruiting and supporting individuals to become volunteers who can then be matched with an older person, to go shopping go for a coffee, support the person to attend a social group or help the older person with some simple practical tasks.

Experience required: You should have access to a car, business insurance and a clean current driving licence.
You will be friendly and approachable, dependable and trustworthy. An ability to maintain confidentiality is essential while understanding the need to share information/concerns with paid (Assistant) Project Workers as required.

There are cafes on other mornings in North Queensferry/Rosyth & Cowdenbeath and you may help with journeys there if you wish too/instead.
