Memory Cafe Greeter and Catering Volunteer

  • VO89628

The Memory Cafe is attended by people and their carers who wish to have some social interaction and some entertainment a couple of times a month. You can volunteer once or twice a month.

The hall used for the Cafe is upstairs in the Church building and there is a lift. Volunteers are needed to meet and greet people as they arrive and escort them upstairs to the Cafe. The kitchen downstairs is well-equipped, and you will help to make tea and coffee, put out cakes and biscuits, all of which goes onto a trolley that is then taken up in the lift to the Cafe and served to those attending.

As a volunteer, you are encouraged to have some refreshments with the people attending, chat with them and enjoy the entertainment. The Cafe is from 2pm to 3.30pm on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Volunteers are needed 1.30-4.00pm to prepare the refreshments and then wash and clean up at the end of the Cafe.
