Description

The Foundation for Advancement of Child Education and Youth Empowerment (FACEYOUTH) is a charitable organization, committed to improving the lives of youths and children in Aberdeen and overseas, using the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, as a framework for action.

The organization had its first charity outreach in 2016 and has over the years, impacted people from underserved communities positively, regardless of age, gender, religion and background.

For over 5 years, FACEYOUTH has been supporting individuals, families and communities through our various projects - from awarding full scholarships to indigent students to hosting sessions on Mental Health Awareness, with the aim to relieve disadvantage of any sorts and give people the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives.

There are a great number of ways you can help support the work of FACEYOUTH as a volunteer. Current volunteer opportunities with us include Support Co-Ordinator, Fundraising and Event Volunteers, Marketing Co-Ordinator and PA to our Board. All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.

OUR MISSION Develop partnership networks with the government, international organisations and other relevant bodies in the realisation of the organisation vision. Promote quality education for underprivileged African children, by providing access to e-Learning facilities to community schools throughout Africa. Empowering young talents by providing them with scholarships and opportunities to guide them towards their future goals; inspiring young African talents to become impactful role models and entrepreneurs; while upholding our values and heritage. Restrictions

Travel details: We have a new office at Faceyouth Centre, Craigshaw Road, West Tullos Industrial Estate, AB12 3AP. There’s access to the place by bus from the Aberdeen City Centre and volunteers can also work remotely.

Expenses details: Any approved public transport costs for volunteering will be reimbursed.

Fundraising Administrator (Scotland) ~ Seagull Trust Cruises

An exciting opportunity to work with a respected charity operating throughout Scotland. Seagull Trust Cruises provide free canal cruises for the elderly, infirm, and those with special needs. Founded back in 1978, and operating from 4 Scottish bases, we are wholly run by volunteers, and 100% funded by grants and donations. Seagull Trust Cruises operate the largest fleet of charity boats in Gt. Britain. We are currently looking for a Volunteer Fundraising Coordinator to head up or join a new small fundraising team, who working with others in the team, can source grant opportunities, liaise with potential funders, prepare quality application forms, and process through to successful completions. Our Executive Board oversee a number of ambitious projects at Branch and Scotland wide level, continuously driving the charity forward while maintaining its excellent reputation for providing free canal cruises for our beneficiaries. We are looking for an excellent written communicator to identify and apply for trust and corporate grants. You will be researching funding opportunities and writing grant applications for the charity, keeping records on appropriate grant giving bodies, (application closing dates and processes), and reporting back to donors the difference their grant has made. You will also keep in touch with the team at local and executive level about the progress of applications. While this is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the most respected charities operating on the Scottish Canal network, no experience or knowledge of the canals or boating is necessary ~ our concern and focus is on our all important beneficiaries.

Copywriter / Newsletter Editor ~ Seagull Trust Cruises

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Copywriter / Newsletter Editor to help produce an on-line newsletter ("Mailchimp" or similar) which will be distributed to our members, supporters, beneficiaries etc. This is a brand new initiative therefore giving scope to influence the publication design and content from the outset. We are looking for an excellent written communicator, perhaps with design ability to work with others in the Charity (Scotland wide) to identify stories, and items of interest to the newsletter readership. Some ability to manipulate images would be beneficial but not compulsory, as others in the team will be able to assist. While this is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the most respected charities operating on the Scottish Canal network, no experience or knowledge of the canals or boating is necessary ~ our concern and focus is on our all important beneficiaries and our volunteers.
