Quarriers Rivendell Service provides 24-hour residential support for five children/young people living with complex needs. Our service adopts a person-centred approach, ensuring the child/young person is at the heart of all decisions made around the support they receive while providing a safe, nurturing and homely environment where they are able to thrive and develop.
We believe in individuality for each young person and will always promote choice, inclusion, dignity, control and wellbeing while providing support.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our friendly team and provide support with, typing up minutes database input, file management and general admin duties.
The main tasks include:
• Input/update data
• Typing up minutes
• Dealing with incoming/outgoing mail
Previous administration experience is desirable in particular experience of using spreadsheets and data bases as the volunteer will be expected to work using own initiative. Initially the volunteer will work alongside the Administrator until confident in undertaking various office tasks on their own.

Quarriers is a Scottish charity providing practical support and care for children, adults and families. We challenge poverty and inequality of opportunity and choice, to bring about positive change in people's lives. Quarriers operates 127 Projects throughout Scotland and South-West England. They vary greatly, due to the wide variety of needs that we address but include group homes and supported living services for people with physical and learning disabilities, support services and Scotland's only residential assessment service for people with complex forms of epilepsy; a residential and day school and community based projects for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties; hostels and support services for young homeless people; family centres; respite and long term care for children with a range of disabilities and other difficulties and support services for carers.
To get the most out of the role it is hoped the volunteer can commit for at least six months. Four hours or more per week anytime during the day or evenings or weekends to suit volunteer’s availability.
Experience required: Ideally we are looking for a volunteer with good interpersonal skills, IT skills and experience of databases and spreadsheets. We are looking for someone who is friendly, willing to work as part of the team as well as capable of working on their own.
