Sensory (Double Decker) Bus Driver Volunteers

Description

As you may have heard, we have been working on a very exciting project, creating the first double decker sensory bus in Scotland – enabling us to take our services on the road throughout Grampian.

But to make this work we need your help!

We are looking for individuals with experience driving buses and/or HGV vehicles to help us transport the bus throughout Grampian taking our specialist autism services to those in need.

Organisation aims and objectives

Grampian Autistic Society are working to ensure that people in the North East of Scotland living with an Autism Spectrum Condition are enabled to fulfil their potential within their community and society.

Restrictions

Experience required: We would ask that the volunteer is a caring individual with a passion for what we do. The individual must have the relevant driving qualifications and if required a PVG check will be completed.
Travel details: The opportunity will be driving the bus throughout Grampian, visiting the main towns in the region. Expenses will be covered where appropriate.
Minimum age: 21

Support

Expenses details: Expenses will be paid via BACS if appropriate on a monthly basis.
Training details: Excellent support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. Support will be provided via your Line Manager, along with other support staff. If required, refresher driving training will be provided. On-going training may include Autism Awareness training and more.
