Our shops help fund Hospice care in the Highlands. Retail volunteers work as part of team with the Shop Manager to keep the shop open and to generate income from the sale of donated and new goods. Our 14 shops are located across the Highlands.

Main responsibilities:
• To provide high standards of customer care to shoppers
• To sort and price goods
• To operate the till and handle cash
• To help keep the shop clean and tidy
• To follow retail and organisational processes and procedures
• To know about the work of the Highland Hospice and share this within your local community
• To work as part of a team
• To accept donations and ask for Gift Aid

Organisation aims and objectives

The Hospice aims: To provide specialist inter-disciplinary palliative care to patients suffering from life threatening cancer and other appropriate terminal illnesses. To provide continuing support into bereavement to carers, relatives and friends. To act as an education and resource centre for health care professionals and others interested in furthering the work of palliative care. To initiate and participate in audit and research projects within the field of palliative care. To consolidate, expand and improve these services to achieve the highest possible standard of palliative care within a cost which is affordable.











Experience required: • Honesty and trustworthiness are essential • Hard working • A good level of fitness is essential • Be reliable and punctual • Be polite and helpful to others • Be a team member, considerate of others feelings and needs • Be flexible and willing to respond to change • Carry out the agreed tasks as laid out in the specific guidelines for the volunteer role • An interest in fashion and a knowledge of fashion labels is desirable
