The role of a volunteer charity trustee is essential to the continued effective working of the organisation and its ability to achieve its aims and objectives. Although the position carries some legal liability, it is chiefly one of trust and responsibility. Trustees should be able to ensure the organisation is clear in its purpose and direction. Trustees must be able to attend monthly meetings and the annual general meeting each year.
