Description

Coldside Community Cupboard helps reduce food waste and tackle food insecurity by providing free surplus food for the community. The cupboard is situated outside the Maxwell Centre, our friendly community centre that sits in the heart of Coldside.

We are looking for warm and passionate volunteers aged 18+ who can manage the stock, prepare bagged produce, make meal kits and keep statistics updated. Our new volunteers can hopefully give us 2 hours per day, once or twice a week Mon - Thurs, to keep our busy cupboard running smoothly.

Be a part of the Maxwell team and help us improve the wellbeing of our community while also helping the environment. We have a great community growing space, producing organic fruit, vegetables and herbs for Coldside residents and we work as a team to keep the community doing and keeping well.

Organisation aims and objectives

We are committed to improving the quality of life for the local community and to combatting social exclusion, poverty, disadvantage, and discrimination. The Centre provides a welcoming and supportive environment in which individuals can learn valuable skills and access essential information. We work with community members to ensure that they are actively involved in the development and provision of services to meet their changing needs.
