Description

The primary purpose of the role is sleeping over at the Centre to provide support should the waking night staff require it, and to participate in recreational activities with residents and staff. Other duties may be required and will be discussed at interview.

Organisation aims and objectives

Bethany Christian Trust exists to relieve the suffering and meet the long-term needs of homeless and vulnerable people. Our vision is that through Christian love in action homelessness will be reduced and vulnerable people empowered to live independently within society. Bethany operates services that take people from homelessness through to managing their own tenancy and building positive friendships.

Restrictions

Experience required: Volunteers should; Have experience of providing general support to vulnerable people; Be mindful of personal wellbeing, appropriate boundaries & the limitations of the role. Emotional & physical safety is of paramount importance; Develop strong, healthy & appropriate relationships with colleagues.

Training details: Volunteers will be given training at induction, and on an ongoing basis as necessary
