Fife Headway are looking for a new Secretary to join the Board of Trustees! This is a great opportunity to build on your skills and experience to help the work of a small charity in Fife.

Headway Fife exists to provide support, information and referrals for people with an acquired brain injury (ABI). They aim to reduce social isolation increase access to information and referral information and empower people with an ABI to have more control over their lives.

Duties:

Preparing for meetings- Sending notices of all meetings to members within the time required by the governing document, arranging meetings, preparing the agenda in consultation with the Chair and distributing the agenda with any background papers Participating in meetings- Ensuring that the minutes of the previous meeting are accurate, agreed and signed and dated on each page by the Chair, taking and producing minutes of the meeting, distributing minutes in a timely manner.

Organisation aims and objectives

To help head injured gain a better quality of life, in turn, helping carers . We are aware of people out there in fife who have not heard of Fife Headway and if we can get support to them we will be completing the mission of helping in regaining confidence and make them feel better.

Restrictions

Experience required: They are looking for someone with a passion for ensuring high quality services are given to people with acquired brain injury. If you have experience of financial controls, budgeting or applying for grant funding, that would be helpful but not essential.
Travel details: Linton Lane Community Centre, Linton Lane, Kirkcaldy KY2 6LF. Free parking , can be accessed by public transport. Some board meeting will be on zoom and some in person when permitted.

Expenses details: Out of pocket expenses will be paid.
Training details: Headway will offer support as required, including an induction covering an understanding of brain injuries. You are also welcome to attend free training on Roles & Responsibilities of a Board Member that Fife Voluntary Action provide.

Minutes Secretary

ClubSport Aberdeen is a vibrant body directed by the clubs, for the clubs. As an independent charity, we provide a unified voice for sport clubs in Aberdeen at the top level across the city through our relationship with the Active Aberdeen Partnership. Our purpose is not only to provide the AAP with club input and a club perspective on arising matters, but also to ensure that Aberdeen has safe, sustainable and supported clubs. It does so by using expertise from within the club network as well as from partners in the wider network. This gives Aberdeen’s clubs the ability to develop and grow their membership, workforce and structure to provide their members with the best possible experience of the sport. Membership is open to all clubs across Aberdeen, and generally around 70-80 clubs register with us on an annual basis. The board of Club Sport Aberdeen is made up of a board of volunteer trustees who meet regularly to discuss programmes and initiatives that will benefit sports clubs across the city, which includes projects such as the North East Youth Panel and Active Schools Voucher projects. However, we would be keen to support clubs to deliver projects that also impact on mental health, increasing confidence and breaking down barriers to access sport and physical activity. The board are currently looking to recruit a minutes secretary to help with board admin. Main responsibilities would include: • Collect Agenda items and share prior to meetings • Taking accurate notes as a record of discussion and decisions • Write up notes with responsibilities and actions • Distribute minutes to all committee members Board meetings take place on a bi-monthly basis, with other meetings scheduled as required. Time commitment would generally be 2-3 hours per month, depending on the meeting cycle and membership processing.
