Description

Fife Headway are looking for a new Secretary to join the Board of Trustees! This is a great opportunity to build on your skills and experience to help the work of a small charity in Fife.

Headway Fife exists to provide support, information and referrals for people with an acquired brain injury (ABI). They aim to reduce social isolation increase access to information and referral information and empower people with an ABI to have more control over their lives.

Duties:

Preparing for meetings- Sending notices of all meetings to members within the time required by the governing document, arranging meetings, preparing the agenda in consultation with the Chair and distributing the agenda with any background papers Participating in meetings- Ensuring that the minutes of the previous meeting are accurate, agreed and signed and dated on each page by the Chair, taking and producing minutes of the meeting, distributing minutes in a timely manner.

Organisation aims and objectives

To help head injured gain a better quality of life, in turn, helping carers . We are aware of people out there in fife who have not heard of Fife Headway and if we can get support to them we will be completing the mission of helping in regaining confidence and make them feel better.

Restrictions

Experience required: They are looking for someone with a passion for ensuring high quality services are given to people with acquired brain injury. If you have experience of financial controls, budgeting or applying for grant funding, that would be helpful but not essential.
Travel details: Linton Lane Community Centre, Linton Lane, Kirkcaldy KY2 6LF. Free parking , can be accessed by public transport. Some board meeting will be on zoom and some in person when permitted.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Out of pocket expenses will be paid.
Training details: Headway will offer support as required, including an induction covering an understanding of brain injuries. You are also welcome to attend free training on Roles & Responsibilities of a Board Member that Fife Voluntary Action provide.
