NHS Grampian and Royal Voluntary Service and working in partnership to provide a friendly and safe transport service for discharged patients.

-Do you enjoy driving and meeting new people?
We are looking for friendly volunteer drivers for the Patient Discharge Transport service based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. This is a response service where you will be on a rota based on site at ARI to take patients safely home. Home can be anywhere in the Grampian area.

• Volunteers use their own vehicle to drive patient’s safely home.
• Uniform and full training provided.
• Mileage will be reimbursed.
• Service operates Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
• Minimum commitment: one shift per week (2 hours per shift).

Flexible times available to volunteer, during weekdays. All help greatly appreciated.

Restrictions

Experience required: Must have a valid driver license for any driving volunteer roles. Friendly and outgoing personality, excellent communications skills. Flexibility and reliability. Good knowledge of the Grampian area.
Travel details: Volunteers are based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary; they use their own vehicle to get there. Mileage is reimbursed.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Expenses are reimbursed to the volunteer for all mileage completed in transporting client to and from Hospital, this includes travel from their home to ARI and return to Home after a shift.
Training details: Excellent support and training is provided to all volunteers. Includes documents to read, sign and return, Online Training Modules to complete. Induction to be completed at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Lone Working procedures explained. Confidentiality form to be completed and returned.
