Description

Do you have 2 hours a week to assist a wheelchair user to attend an Inverness based walking group? We are looking for someone who could provide 1:1 support for an individual to attend our group walks in Inverness. This would involve assisting the individual, pushing the chair when required during the walk and providing support to attend a social cup of tea after the walk.

Organisation aims and objectives

Contribute to the development & improvement of health, wellbeing & social care in a sustainable way throughout Highlands, through partnerships with individuals, communities and private/statuary voluntary sectors, tackling isolation and social exclusion, facilitating independent living.

Restrictions

Experience required: No experience required but for this role you would need to be fit, have a caring attitude, be patient and friendly. Good communication skills and a non-judgmental attitude are essential as is an ability to maintain confidentiality.
Travel details: Volunteer would need to get to the start of the walk by their own means.
Minimum age: 18
