Digital Champion - TEC Library

  • VO88365

Description

The Tech Peer Mentor Project based in VAO has the aim of increasing the use of Technology Enabled Care (TEC) in Orkney. The project is seeking to achieve this through providing information and advice about different types of technology that can be used to support health and care. It is also supporting people with health or care needs to develop their digital skills.

As part of this approach the project has set up a ‘TEC Library’ which is used to demonstrate consumer technology such as smart speakers and linked devices. The TEC Library will also be starting to offer some of these devices out for short loan. The volunteer would be in Kirkwall Library one morning per week with the TEC Library devices speaking to members of the public. There may also be potential to expand the role to offering digital champion support to members of the public as well.
