Description

As a volunteer driver you will be driving patients safely home after being discharged from Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Home can be anywhere in the Grampian area so long journeys are expected. This role is based on site at ARI where you will be ready to respond to any requests within you allocated shift. Shifts are 2 hour slots 9am -5pm. Requests can also be shorter transfers between the Maternity Hospital or Roxburghe House to ARI. We also have opportunities to transport patients to/from the Renal Ward.

This strategy places increased emphasis on: - Food delivered to the home - Extending the service we provide in hospitals to include not just cafes and shops but also patient support and get-you-home service - Community help schemes that support independence for older and housebound people at home and in their community - Emergency services to support those vulnerable through national or other disasters

Restrictions

Experience required: Must have a valid driver license; own vehicle. As you will be helping people who can be vulnerable you will be a friendly and positive person who likes meeting new people. Must have an awareness of safeguarding and confidentiality.
Travel details: The ARI Patient Transport Discharge role is based on site so you will have to travel to ARI.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Mileage: 45p per mile
Training details: Induction; online modules (Safeguarding; Equality; H&S; Data Protection; Manual Handling; Understanding Dementia); COVID-19 awareness related training/learning; COVID-19 individual risk assessment; ongoing support from the Grampian Team. For the ARI Patient Transport Discharge role you will have an on site induction.
