Fresh Community Wellness is a growing grassroots charity, registered Scottish Charity Number, SC051346. We operate out of Aberdeen city, working within a (S.I.M.D) high neighbourhood to create lasting change and build a legacy for the future. Predominantly in Seaton neighbourhoods and outdoors, we work with volunteers/residents, with a salutogenic approach to community wellness. To help with this we have great opportunities and need people to help out as volunteers for a range of roles including: *Food growing, gardeners, greenspace management, tidy ups volunteers. *Mentors, community engagement, events, entertainers (kids, adults, 55+). *Outdoors games & sports volunteers, building outdoor areas for residents (sheltered housing seating), health. *Artists/ Sculptors to begin on our Street Art & Design projects, and sculptures. *Admin, coordinators, team lead volunteers, advisors & support volunteers. *Drop-in café helpers, advisors, cooking assistants. All are fantastic opportunities to make a real difference for people and communities in Aberdeen. Excellent support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. Week by week, our volunteers inspire and provide #SkillsForLife for young people aged 4-25. We support Scouting in the Borders, Braid, Craigalmond, East Lothian, Edinburgh North East, Midlothian and Pentland areas Our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts learn new skills, make new friends and stand on their own two feet. They’re supported by our everyday heroes - adult volunteers who shape young people’s lives for the better and find out a whole lot about themselves in the process, too. You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to join us. You don’t need to have been a Scout when you were younger. You don’t even need to know how to put up a tent. Our door is open to people of all ages, genders, races, and backgrounds, and we’re only able to change lives because people like you lend a hand. We’re talking about tea makers, tidy-uppers, and skill sharers. We’re talking about minibus drivers and first aiders. We’re talking about students who want to boost their CV, and parents who volunteer so they can spend more time together as a family. Whatever your skillset, lend a hand for as little or as much time as you can spare, and we promise you’ll get more out than you put in. Because whether you’re helping a leader to run an activity in the local town hall, organising a night away, or buttering 120 slices of bread a group of very hungry eleven-year olds - no two Scout meetings are the same. The difference you make, though, is always great. We provide the training. You show up, get stuck in, and make memories for life. As long as you're over 18, you can help out as an adult volunteer in Scouting. Don’t fancy working directly with young people? We also have roles in governance, administration, planning, social media and much more! Get in touch with your local group and offer your skills/time. Join Young Scot's #YSEquity Panel and have your say on our services, making them fairer and more accessible for everyone. Project Information: - 11-18 years old (inclusive) - From April 2024 to March 2025 - Meeting every 6-8 weeks (a mix of online and in-person sessions) - Anywhere in Scotland - Travel costs covered What’s the YSEquity Panel about? Do you use your Young Scot National Entitlement Card to get on the bus, access the leisure centre or enjoy local discounts? Has it sometimes been tricky for you to get involved in things like school trips, sports clubs or art groups? Then this opportunity could be a great place to have your voice heard! We want young people aged 11-18 on our YSEquity Panel to help us improve our Young Scot services so they meet the needs of young people, are accessible to everyone and help tackle stigma. You’ll get the chance to share your experiences with education including any challenges you’ve faced being ready to learn and attending regularly. We’ll also try to offer you opportunities to meet decision makers in Scotland to share your thoughts on these topics too. The Panel will look at things like:   - Young Scot National Entitlement Card - Cost of the School Day - Access to education - Rewards - Local Discounts - Extra-curricular activities - Information content and more… We would love to hear from a wide range of young people right across Scotland – we’re particularly interested to hear from: - young carers - young people who live in a rural area - care-experienced young people - if you get or have had free school meals

• Create a positive volunteering environment by agreeing how team tasks will be split between the team, considering individual’s skills, interest and availability; adapting team activities and tasks to be accessible to everyone and following safety and safeguarding procedures • Promote learning and networking opportunities across your Team and the District • Ensure appropriate recruitment is being undertaken for own team, and across the District and its Groups • Regularly review team and individual team members in line with The Scouts Policies • Ensure team are performing compliance monitoring tasks correctly, escalating unresolved issues to the District Lead Volunteer
