Description

Cleaning and tidying two respite cottages on a Friday (change over day for families) from approx 11am. Gardener to water garden, do seasonal garden work as required.
Main Duties: Cleaning kitchen/shower room, stripping beds and making them, hoovering, dusting etc.

Organisation aims and objectives

We provide respite for families who have a child or young person with cancer or other life altering illness; we also provide bereavement breaks for families who have lost a child or young person through cancer or life altering illness.

Families leave the retreat on a Friday morning and we have a window of time from approx. 11am to the following day, Saturday 12noon, when the retreat is empty.

Restrictions

Limited time to prepare two cottages for the next families.
Experience required: no experience required except a willingness to join a friendly team of people who want to welcome a family into a sparkling respite cottage. Also can help with small items of maintenance around retreat.

Expenses paid: Yes
Training details: Ongoing training on roles and duties. Support for volunteers by staff members to ensure wellbeing.
