Description

Our Creative Space is an exciting new project based in the Wellgate Centre and is all about sharing and learning new creative skills to help improve the wellbeing of our participants. While helping our partners to maintain attractive plant and flower displays, our waterfront gardening groups are designed to help our participants to connect with others, to try new things and learn new skills and to collaborate with others

Our volunteers will work with staff and participants to generate themes and ideas for the group and ensure that everyone is included in the activity

Main Tasks ·

Help to plan activities in advance
Ensure that participants have the tools for the job
Demonstrate how to use tools or carry out tasks and support participants to practice skills
Ensure that everyone works safely
Ensure that all tools and materials are collected, and returned to the office or stored safel

Wellbeing Works promotes better wellbeing for those who face mental health challenges: building confidence, learning new skills, connecting with others and having a positive impact on our community. Wellbeing Works is the new brand for what was Dundee Association for Mental Health, and has been providing support and services for the people of Dundee for more than 50 years.

Restrictions

Experience required: This opportunity would suit someone with gardening experience,. This could suit someone who is retired, no longer working or just has someone with time to to spare and is looking to feel useful and share or pass on their skills.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Wellbeing Works will repay any public transport costs or mileage rate of 45p per mile.
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: An opportunity to come and meet our staff and participants and visit Waterfront Projects to see what we are doing and how we hope to develop.
Training details: Training will include - Mental Health Awareness, Health & Safety etc as well as regular support and supervision.
