Description

The role of Volunteer & Rota Coordinator is an administrative one, central to the smooth running of our Streetcare Glasgow project supporting the homeless and vulnerably housed. The main purpose of the role is to liaise with the wider volunteer community, collate availability and produce monthly rotas to enable the project to meet the needs of our service users (distributing food. clothing and toiletries to homeless and rescuing food from supermarkets to be redistributed to hostels and refuges). While the project operates in Glasgow, the Coordinator role is home based.

Frequency and commitment details

The role does not have a set hour requirement, however it is estimated to take around 2-5 hours per week. You can volunteer flexibly at times to suit you, requiring regular checking of email/phone for updates from volunteers and suppliers.

Restrictions

Experience required: Strong administrative experience: Knowledge of Volunteer Coordination and Rota Management; Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail; Good all-round written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work with Email and Google drive; An understanding of Humanist Society Scotland’s work; A willingness to abide by our rules and procedures, especially in relation to keeping yourself and others safe; An interest in, and empathy for issues faced by homeless and vulnerably housed.
