Our Outdoor Education Assistant role is varied and includes helping our experienced staff to deliver play, school, weekend events and birthday parties. It's a great opportunity to develop new outdoor learning and Play Ranger skills, including designing and delivering activities for all ages.

Under The Trees provided outdoor learning opportunities to all age groups, backgrounds and abilities. We work in areas of deprivation, providing our community with a wide range of skills and services to engage with each other and the outdoors.

Timing is flexible - can be arranged with the volunteer. We are looking for at least 4 hours per week time commitment.

Experience required: No experience is necessary as a full induction and training and ongoing support will be given. An interest in the outdoors, and learning how to support others to play and learn outdoors, is desirable, as is a current driving licence.
Travel details: We are based in Grangemouth however our activities take place across the Forth Valley area, with a focus on the Falkirk and Stirling areas.

Expenses details: 20 pence per mile paid by bacs after completion of Expenses Form.
Training details: UTT's induction process will create an action plan to support the volunteers journey and to assist them to: 1. Help participants to learn through their experiences, 2. Engage and Inspire to make decisions about things like safety and risk assessment. 3. Develop and promote the outdoors. 4. Encourage enthusiasm for working with children and adults. 5. Understand personal organisation, compliance and standards.
Our core training offer, for volunteers who are able to commit longer term support to our operational delivery, includes: Outdoor/Emergency First Aid; Fire and Tools training; Makaton training and Wild Passport training. There will also be a PPE/Equipment allowance for each key volunteer (including waterproofs and UTT branded clothing). We would be looking for a time commitment in excess of 6 months for the full training package. This would be managed through training milestones linked to an ongoing training plan.
