Description

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s leading dementia voluntary organisation. We work to improve the lives of everyone affected by dementia. We offer support and activities to make sure nobody faces dementia alone.
We are looking for 2 individuals with good mobility and interaction skills to help support group of people with dementia and carers. The walk is informal, friendly and chatty, a lovely way to support people living with dementia and their carers. The walks consists of a gently paced walk along the esplanade in Troon on a weekly based and another monthly walk in Ayr. An important feature of the walk is for the attendees to enjoy the therapeutic benefit of outdoor activity, weather dependent of course! Saying that the wind and rain hasn’t prevented the walk going ahead so far.

To ensure no one goes through Dementia on their own. To offer support and meaningful activities to those affected by Dementia.

Restrictions

Experience required: Good mobility and interaction skills. Would benefit with previous experience of dealing with people with dementia and carers.
