Description

The Allotment Market Stall provides good-quality, well-priced, locally grown fruit and vegetables and reduces waste. We have opportunities this season for volunteers to be a part of running our veg stall in the park. Helping to set up the veg stall and sell produce to the public (3-4 hours Friday morning/lunchtime for growing season (mid July to start October). We are flexible regarding how many shifts, or even half shifts. It can be every week or just a one off according to your availability). The role would suit someone who enjoys outdoors and meeting people and has an interest in local produce and running a market stall selling allotment grown fruit and veg.

Main tasks involve:
• Help set up the stall with gazebo, tables and crates.
• Sell fruit and vegetables to public.
• Help promote The Allotment Market Stall and the values of growing and eating good stuff.
• Engage with public to answer questions on our produce.

Full training will be given. Volunteers will be accompanied and supported at all times.

The Allotment Market Stall (TAMS) is a community project collecting and selling excess allotment produce. -OUR MISSION IS: To reduce waste, reduce food miles and make great produce available at affordable prices. -OUR VISION IS: We aim to connect people with where their food comes from and with each other and their communities. -OUR VALUES ARE: We value growing and eating local fruit and vegetables.

Restrictions

Experience required: • Friendly and enjoy speaking to people • Knowledge of growing (and cooking) desirable • Willingness to share said knowledge • Able to handle small amounts of cash • Able to use Point of Sale app to record sales and take card payments • Enjoy being outdoors
Travel details: TAMS Aberdeen. Fridays at Duthie Park, Seaton Park or Victoria Park.
