Description

The Allotment Market Stall provides good-quality, well-priced, locally grown fruit and vegetables and reduces waste. We have opportunities for people to help assist our driver to collect allotment produce from around Aberdeen (approx 3 hours on Thursday afternoons for the growing season (mid July to end Oct). Just as many Thursdays as you are available, so it could be each week or even just one off). Would suit someone who enjoys outdoors and has an interest in local fruit and veg growing.

Main tasks involve:
• Visit allotment sites.
• May have contact with allotment holders.
• Help load/unload produce into van.
• Help Weigh and Record amounts of produce collected.

Full training will be given. Volunteers will be accompanied and supported at all times.

The Allotment Market Stall (TAMS) is a community project collecting and selling excess allotment produce. -OUR MISSION IS: To reduce waste, reduce food miles and make great produce available at affordable prices. -OUR VISION IS: We aim to connect people with where their food comes from and with each other and their communities. -OUR VALUES ARE: We value growing and eating local fruit and vegetables.

Experience required: • Some lifting ability • Ability to handle fruit and vegetables • Enjoy being part of a small team and meeting people • Able to be out in any weather
