Description

We are looking for volunteers who have an interest in supporting an organisation which works with survivors of sexual violence. Befriending volunteers provide social support to survivors to build their confidence by encouraging the survivor to get out and about to rediscover interests, make new friends & social connections.
Befriending at RASAC P&K provides a space where survivors can empower themselves, improve good mental wellbeing, and build confidence and self-esteem through social interaction and developing skills.

We require female applicants only and are exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Organisation aims and objectives

To support women, young women and girls who have experienced rape and/or sexual abuse at any time in their lives.

Restrictions

Experience required: We are looking for women who have a willingness to learn, good communication skills, the ability to listen to others, are reliable and able to show commitment. It is also important to have a positive outlook, show enthusiasm, have a good sense of humour, and to be flexible in your approach to work.
Travel details: This role will be based at RASAC P&K, 16 King Street, Perth, PH2 8JA but will take part in the community where all locations will be risk assessed.
Minimum age: 18
