Description

Support Session Volunteers will help our clients to access benefits by supporting individuals with complex needs who self-disclose as having a disability and promoting the service.

· Helping clients understand about advocacy
· Supporting clients with issues they cannot resolve on their own
· Keeping detailed notes and records of interactions with clients and visits
· Doing research and making contacts with other services
· referring clients to our paid advocacy service if necessary
· signposting clients to other services
· building professional relationships
· promoting our services and organisation
· delivering for 2 individuals max at one time

Restrictions

Experience required: · Good communication skills – written and verbal · Empathy and patience when dealing with clients who have challenges · A knowledge of or interest in advocacy · A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel & Outlook · Accuracy and attention to detail · Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload · Ability to work independently & as part of a team · A commitment to the aims and ethos of Voiceability.
