Description

We are seeking a volunteer District Treasurer to join our Roxburghshire Team. The Treasurer is responsible for the collection of funds raised at garden openings in the Scottish Borders area and making sure that funds are paid to our charities and to Head Office. Treasurers enter information about openings into our database so must be numerate and comfortable with technology. You will also get to visit a wonderful range of gardens and meet the lovely people who are kind enough to open their gardens, as well as being part of a team of local volunteers. Organisation aims and objectives

Scotland's Gardens raises money for charity by encouraging, promoting and supporting garden owners to open their gardens to the public; raising money for a charity of their choice through admissions, plant sales and refreshments.

Frequency and commitment details

Averaging 1-1.5 hours per week, depending on garden open day frequency.

Restrictions

Experience required: Numeracy; IT Skills
Travel details: Activity may be carried out from home although we would encourage visiting gardens
Minimum age: 18

Support

Taster available: Yes
Taster details: Phone or in person opportunity to chat through role on informal basis and demonstrate tasks.
Training details: Online training via zoom or in person to show how to use our database and to explain Treasurer process; ongoing support is available from Head Office team.
