Responsibilities:
Based on your personal interests and skills, your responsibilities could include any of the following:
Support local fundraising and awareness events.
Manning a stall at an event.
Helping at any event being held by or for the Eric Liddell Centre.
Putting up posters or handing out flyers.
Approaching individuals, schools, universities, local authorities, shops and commercial organisations for sponsorship and donations.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Eric Liddell Centre, situated at Holy Corner in Edinburgh, provides a registered day care service for people with a diagnosis of dementia and a programme for carers including a befriending service and short breaks through a range of courses and events held throughout the city. The Centre also offers excellent office accommodation for small charities or organisations and quality meeting facilities for a range of educational, health, arts & culture, charitable, community and children's groups in its conveniently located premises at the heart of the community.

Restrictions

Experience required: Great people skills, approachable and friendly. Organised, methodical, reliable. Negotiating and influencing. Ability to handle money. Enthusiasm.
Travel details: 15 Morningside Road EH10 4DP The Centre is at Holy Corner Bruntsfield/Morningside. There is paid parking available or it is on multiple bus routes including, 11,16,23 and 36. At present ue to lockdown fundraising events are mostly virtual and meetings taken over Zoom.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Agree with supervisor in advance where expenses may be claimed. Complete an expenses application form and submit to supervisor for approval. Depending on amount the payment may be made in cash. However particularly at this time with COVID restrictions it would preferably be paid direct to a bank account where possible.
Taster available: Yes
Training details: You’ll meet with the Fundraising Manager and receive training relevant to the activities you would most like to participate in. You will also receive induction and safeguarding training as required. Initial introduction to the Eric Liddell Centre and the work we do and to key members of staff.
