Description

DMofT is looking for an individual to help maintain our growing IT network. If you have the skills to keep our pcs, laptops and other associated hardware running, updated where necessary and can help to ensure that our software programmes are correctly installed and virus free, we would love to hear from you. Our staff and volunteers have a limited range of IT skills but an ability to explain new and updated systems together with their operation would be beneficial. You would have an opportunity to help develop interactive and AI exhibits within the museum and work with us to offer an improved visitor experience.

Organisation aims and objectives

Preservation and collection of historical and vintage vehicles to advance and promote heritage and education of the general public. To provide training in vehicle restoration, and organise meetings and lectures on a wide range of transport and vehicle subjects.

To be discussed but will be able to fit around most requirements and availability. The role will be flexible, we adhere to the Covid guidelines and rules set out by the Government. We take volunteer, staff and visitor safety seriously and have been awarded a Covid good to go certificate.

Restrictions

Experience required: The role would suit an individual who is IT savvy and enjoys helping others
Travel details: The museum is ideally placed for the number 5, 9 and 10 Xplore Dundee bus routes which run frequently throughout the daytime.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Receipted out of pocket expenses such as bus fares will be reimbursed.
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: We will be more than happy for you to come along, meet the team, and see what we are all about. You will also have the opportunity to and discuss our IT set up which ranges from Office 365 to more specialist programmes such as MODES and SAGE Accounting software accounting software. We fully adhere to the Covid rules and guidance. Once up and running there will be the ability to work remotely during COVID restrictions meaning the hours of volunteering can be flexible to suit the individual’s circumstances.
