Description

Talkable offers a talkline to anyone suffering from panic or anxiety.

We are currently looking for people who have knowledge and understanding around mental health issues and who would like to volunteer at talkable. You would be required to answer the phone to provide a vital listening ear for our service users.

You will be required to download an app to allow calls to come through and preferably be able to download whatsapp as this is where all our communication among us happens.

An excellent opportunity to help and make a real difference for people. All help is greatly appreciated.

To relieve the needs of people affected by panic attacks and related conditions and in furtherance of this by; i) Provision of a telephone support line ii) Provision of any other supportive measures iii) Working in partnership with other bodies to achieve the purposes

Flexible times available to volunteer. All help greatly appreciated.

Restrictions

Experience required: Knowledge of mental health, able to download an app which is available on both ios and android, be able to fill in a work sheet and email it back.
Travel details: Home based volunteering.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Training details: Excellent support and any relevant training is provided to all volunteers. There will also be an Area Manager to oversee everything and volunteers will be a part of a group of others who all help and support one another.
