Description

Now more than ever, a friendly face or a supportive phone chat can make a world of difference. ‘Fancy a Blether’ volunteers help to reduce loneliness and social isolation for local people in Midlothian.
Volunteers are matched with their ‘Fancy a Blether’ partner to provide a friendly contact once a week. Volunteers initially make phone contact with a view to meeting face-to-face to support the person to access services and activities in their community. With each call or meeting, volunteers can expect to feel the immediate impact of donating their time as they help to reduce loneliness and social isolation for local people in Midlothian. This role can be flexible around your work or family commitments as the schedule is mutually agreed with the person you are supporting.
