Everyday English Class Volunteer

This role requires;
Supporting the Community Development Worker (CDW) in teaching ESOL and facilitating discussion in both a larger group and smaller breakout groups. It may also include leading discussions on information regarding life in the UK.
Working with the CDW to create relevant, informative and engaging plans, and preparing any resources required.
At times, attendees may require one on one teaching, practice and support.

Bethany Christian Trust exists to relieve the suffering and meet the long-term needs of homeless and vulnerable people. Our vision is that through Christian love in action homelessness will be reduced and vulnerable people empowered to live independently within society. Bethany operates services that take people from homelessness through to managing their own tenancy and building positive friendships.










2 hours a week for at least 6 weeks


Experience required: Volunteers must; Be TEFL trained, preferably with teaching experience Be compassionate and patient. Most attendees at the group have come from countries very different to the U.K, and may struggling with adjusting to the culture, as well as the language. Have a good level of technology knowledge
Travel details: Due to the ongoing COVID restrictions, this role will take place over zoom from the foreseeable future
Minimum age: 18

Training details: Volunteers will be given training at induction, and on an ongoing basis as required.
Support: Wheelchair Access/Disabled Access Toilet
