Community Transport Volunteer

Our free Community Transport Service helps connect older people with limited transport options, to services such as hospital appointments and social activities. This helps them maintain their independence and get to where they need to be without hassle and stress. At the moment, this service operates largely around Blairgowrie and Rattray and the surrounding areas, however we will be able to increase our service areas with more volunteers.

Our volunteer drivers are responsible for collecting clients from their own homes in their own cars, and taking them wherever they need to go. The volunteers provide a friendly, comfortable transport option, a helping arm, and assist clients to their appointments.

What’s in it for you? paid mileage at 0.45p/mile, a chance to help older people- particularly during these difficult times by providing a safer option than public transport or driving, a chance to meet new people, and get involved in the community

Elder Voice is affiliated to NHS Patient Transport. Due to the nature of this voluntary work, Elder Voice comply with CRBS Disclosure Scotland procedures and all volunteer drivers undergo a PVG disclosure. We will be adhering to all government covid-19 regulations.
