Save the Children are looking to engage as many people as possible to get them donating, fundraising and raising awareness. You can help this process through your local networks. This is a terrific role for you to get stuck into and all you’ll need is a computer and a phone. By researching local businesses, schools and organisations, you’ll also look for potential opportunities and different ways to promote local fundraising activities happening in your community. So, you’ll need to feel confident speaking to different people over the phone, using the internet to carry out research and creating a spreadsheet or report for your Community Fundraising Manager. And once you've done that, you could get involved in the organisation and delivery of different events and initiatives. Each local community is different and with your help we can make the most of the interests and opportunities your local one provides.

Friends of Bianca are an Aberdeen based non-profit charity who help support the Bianca shelter in Portugal who care for over 300 cats and dogs. We are always looking for people to help at with fund raising and helping out at fetes. We also promote going out to the actual shelter in Sesimbra, Portugal where we can organize accommodation if required. Our door is open to people of all ages, genders, races, and backgrounds, and we’re only able to change lives because people like you lend a hand. We’re talking about tea makers, tidy-uppers, and skill sharers. We’re talking about minibus drivers and first aiders. We’re talking about students who want to boost their CV, and parents who volunteer so they can spend more time together as a family. Drinklink believe that no one life should be negatively affected by someone else’s drinking. Our aim is to link people affected by someone else’s drinking, we know the impact of this can be wide reaching so we work to provide signposting to support, and services to facilitate education and recovery. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager Volunteer to join us on a voluntary basis. *Key Responsibilities include: • In cooperation with the Business Development Director develop a business development: funding, fundraising and corporate sponsorship strategy to identify priority areas of Drinklink’s operations. • Ensure adherence to compliance and governance protocols relating to donations. • Proactively identify fundraising opportunities to ensure cashflow pipeline is sufficient to sustain the ongoing viability of the charity. • Work with the Business Development Team to support our business development activities to help ensure the growth of our work. • Ensure engagement with all internal and external stakeholders. The role involves working from home. Previous experience in a similar role in a charitable/volunteer environment would be desirable.
