You will help plan and deliver coding based activities for children aged 8 to 11 years. No two sessions will be the same.
All volunteers will work in a team with the Community Activities Leader to plan and deliver the sessions. Materials etc will be provided however you may be asked to purchase some of the materials yourself – you will be reimbursed for this upon presenting a valid receipt. You will be given the opportunity to lead on sessions if you are confident in this. Working with children you will be an approachable, lively and helpful volunteer who is ready to support the children and provide a fun atmosphere where children can take part in activities safely

Organisation aims and objectives

To enhance the economic, social and environmental sustainability of Rosewell through the creation of opportunities for the local community. The Company has been formed to benefit the community who live or work in Rosewell as defined by the EH24 postcode or within 1 Kilometre of its boundary. (the Company), with the Purposes listed in the sub-clauses hereto to be exercised following the principles of sustainable development (where sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs), namely: 4.1 To manage community land and associated assets for the benefit of the Community and the public in general. 4.2 To provide, or assist in providing recreational facilities, and/or organising recreational activities, which will be available to members of the Community and public at large with the object of improving the conditions of life of the Community. 4.3 To advance community development, including urban or rural regeneration within the Community. 4.4 To advance the education of the Community about its environment, culture, heritage and/or history. 4.5 To advance environmental protection or improvement including preservation, sustainable development and conservation of the natural environment, the maintenance, improvement or provision of environmental amenities for the Community and/or the preservation of buildings or sites of architectural, historic or other importance to the Community;

Experience required: Team Player. A knowledge of basic coding or willing to learn. Confident. Friendly. Helpful. Interest in learning new things.
Travel details: We are accessible by Lothian Bus route 49.

Expenses details: Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. Bus tickets must be provided.
Training details: We will provide a full induction to our building and COVID policies. We can provide on going training such as 1st aid and food hygiene. Sarah will be available throughout the week to provide support.
