You will be helping people prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. Every individual affected by an emergency will need different support from us to help them recover, below are some examples of what you might support with:
Helping communities prepare for extreme weather events such as flooding or snow storms
Providing practical support such as distributing clothing or food after flooding
Providing emotional support to people who have been evacuated due to a fire
Location: Caithness
Commitment: 2x 12 hours shifts/month and need to attend 1 group night every three months.

This service requires minimum commitment of 18 months including 2x 12 hours shifts/month. And need to attend 1 group night every three months.
Volunteer must be over the age of 18. Driving license preferred but not essential.
Experience required: We keep the service user at the heart of all we do working to understand their needs and the difference we make. As well as good interpersonal, diplomacy, communication and teamwork skills,

Expenses details: Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses when on duty.
Training details: Introduction to Line Manager and availability discussed.
Familiarised with ER response structures in the local area
Will be given a H&S briefing for the site you will normally be operating from.
Familiarisation with policy and procedures.
Familiarisation with British Red Cross Systems.
Familiarisation with any equipment/vehicle use that may be required to carry out the role.
Will receive work wear, if required for the role.
