Shopping Helper

Description

Shopping for groceries, clothes or little bits around the house is something we can take for granted. People in our communities, who may be a little older, recovering from illness, or just lacking a bit of confidence can really struggle – and you could make the difference.
Shops can be intimidating places – noise, fuss, lights crowds, offers everywhere - all making it difficult to find things. Taking small steps may be all someone needs to start to get out and about again. The aim of the APEL initiative is to support people to stay involved in their communities - we need your help to make it happen.
If supermarkets and shopping centres are your thing…then this could be for you. We will match you with someone in your community, we feel could use your friendship and your help.
By meeting up and hitting the shops together, you could be making the most of the bargains and doing something good at the same time. All we ask is your time, your chat, some space in your car…and maybe a willingness to carry a shopping bag or two!
Due to Covid we have had to have a flexible approach to our opportunities so depending on the restrictions that are active at any point the opportunities may come under one of the following options:

Open for recruitment and placement
Open for recruitment and risk assessed placement activity
Open for some recruitment and some risk assessed placement activity
Open for some recruitment but currently closed to placement activity
Closed for all recruitment and placement activity
