Description

Given the opportunity to be involved in a grassroots level community based charity supporting ex and serving military personnel suffering from complex mental health issues through equine assisted learning. Providing oversight of the charity will ensure that service users needs are met. Whilst ensuring best value principles are adhered to.

Being a Trustee will also provide a developmental Opportunity of someone looking to refine existing management skills.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Haven at Vanguard is a start-up charity aiming to advance health, provide relief to those in need and advance education through the provision of equine facilitated learning opportunities. The organisation will have an initial interest in supporting veterans but opportunities will be open to all who are looking to learn.

Volunteer Trustees need to commit to 2 hours for one day every 4 months

Restrictions

Looking for volunteers with life experience, who can travel to meetings and since it’s a community based charity local volunteers are desirable to maximise positive community impact.
Experience required: Honesty, reliable, Organised, computer/ IT/ social media literate, Prior experience of being involved in business/ fund raising / charities.
Travel details: This volunteerign takes place in SOUTH LANARKSHIRE in Strathaven
