Description

Everyday Royal Voluntary services helps thousands of older people to live the life they want. They provide practical services in hospitals,homes and in communities all across Scotland Wales and England, so people can be independent and active.Our volunteers come from all walks of life and without them the Royal Voluntary Service wouldn't exist. They are looking for volunteer telephone befrienders to make regular, friendly telephone contact with older people to help combat loneliness.The main tasks will be to provide regular, friendly conversation and companionship over the phone, and provide information and support to help the older person access other services.

Organisation aims and objectives

In every corner of Britain, Royal Voluntary Service mobilises volunteers to support those in need, in hospital and in the community. Through the gift of voluntary service, our volunteers provide much-needed support for over-stretched public services. Our volunteers work at scale in the NHS, freeing up NHS staff to dedicate more time to patient care, and within communities to give practical help and support to people when they need it. Royal Voluntary Service volunteers help in all sorts of ways.
