Supporting older and vulnerable people throughout Perth and Kinross in their homes by carrying out tasks such as shopping and dropping, assisted shopping, accompanied walks, chair based exercises or taking them out into the community; all to reduce their isolation and build their confidence.

Organisation aims and objectives

RVS. aims to help people maintain independence and dignity in their own homes and communities, particularly in later life. This strategy places increased emphasis on: - Food delivered to the home - Extending the service we provide in hospitals to include not just cafes and shops but also patient support and get-you-home service - Community help schemes that support independence for older and housebound people at home and in their community - Emergency services to support those vulnerable through national or other disasters










Frequency and commitment details

We want you to give as much time as you are prepared to give without any pressure. Maybe one hour per week is all you can spare, and that is great.


Experience required: No skills or experience necessary. We are simply looking for volunteers with a caring nature that have time to devote to helping our older and vulnerable people become less isolated and with more confidence to get out and about.
Travel details: Travel from your home to the client's home is required. Mileage expenses are paid.
Minimum age: 18


Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Claimed via the Perth office on-line or by paper form each month. Claim amount is 45p per mile from door to door.
Training details: Basic awareness training with dementia, safeguarding, equalities and manual handling is provided.
