The Trust is seeking a new Trustee who will act as the Charity’s Treasurer. The Trust will shortly take ownership of Shambellie House and has secured funding to carry out initial repairs and some alterations to allow the House to re-open as a Centre for short courses on art, craft, quilting, photography, wildlife, and wellbeing all delivered by local experts. Fundraising continues for addition internal work and equipment. The Treasurer will be responsible for dealing with all the Trust’s day to day accounting including invoices and grant claims. The Trust uses Sage accounting software, and it will be the Treasurers responsibility to maintain this up to date. The Trust is registered for vat and the Treasurer will prepare and submit the quarterly returns. The Trust has adopted a set of accounting policies. By the end of this year the Trust will have appointed staff to run the centre and they will take on the day-to-day responsibility for the financial systems. At that stage the role of the Treasurer will be to monitor all transactions and to ensure that the Trust accounting policies are implemented.
