Description

Talkable offers a talkline to anyone affected by panic or anxiety.

Talkable are looking for committee members to help run the organisation as we continue to grow and provide ever more vital support to people.

Talkable is a not for profit that is hoping to delve into the charity sector so any charity knowledge would be an advantage. We are in the mental health sector so any mental health knowledge would also be an advantage.

We meet every fortnight over Microsoft Teams and the meeting usually lasts an hour.

We are looking for standard Committee Members, a Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.

Excellent support and any relevant training is provided to all volunteers. All help makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

The Seabank House charity operates 2 care homes in Aberdeen City, each providing support for vulnerable adults with mental health problems. Seabank House has capacity for 19 residents, while Aberlea House is a smaller project and has 5 residents. Both services are fully staffed 24/7. The main aim of the charity are to assist and support residents to live full and meaningful lives and to maximise their potential. As well as providing rooms, meals and communal areas, we also offer a range of different types of support depending on each individuals' needs. This includes areas such as preparing or and attending appointments, domestic tasks, medication compliance, organising personal finances/benefits and social therapy. The Board ae seeking to secure additional voluntary unpaid committee members to help oversee management of the charity. Supporting the work of paid staff and volunteers, committee members offer valuable life experience and objectivity to the management of the charity. Volunteers we need you, with you inspiration and motivation to serve as a board member on the Management Board of HALLA (Harlaw Area Lifelong Learning Association). We are a Board of people who run daytime and evening classes at Kaimhill Learning Centre. We have a FB page ( @HALLACommunity) where you can see some of our activities and tutored classes. We meet once a month to discuss new opportunities and management issues, to find new ways of how-to bring people of all ages in the local community into the centre. We have several weekly, social, informal learning groups where Board members can get to know each other and form a friendly working relationship. A volunteer should be passionate, enthusiastic and have a keen interest in community matters. A volunteer does not necessarily require specific skills since we all support each other to develop new skills but if you have specific ones, it would be good to introduce them to the rest of the Board so we can use them to benefit the local community. The Board would appreciate people with knowledge of IT and office procedures but enthusiasm and interest in the community are equally important. This is an amazing opportunity to discover your “hidden talents” !!! You are very welcome to attend a committee meeting and see if this is for you. Early Intervention is a neurodivergent safe space for neuro divergent children and their families. A non-judgmental environment where you can be your true authentic self. Managed by volunteers we offer specialist support - Speech and Language therapy, Music Therapy, Pet therapy, and opportunities for children up to 9 years old to socialise with their neurokin whilst empowering them to embrace their identity, we also offer opportunities for semi structured play, arts and crafts and sensory messy play. Early Intervention is a volunteer-led organisation which has been providing services to neurodivergent children and their families since February 2022. This is an exciting time to get involved with us as we are seeking to develop the services we offer and to look at making the transition to becoming a Scottish Charity. Looking for people to help us take Early Intervention to the next stage. People who can help us to sharpen the governance of the organisation to make us into the kind of organisation we aspire to be. This opportunity would be attractive to someone with experience of committee work, or people, who want to gain experience in managing and developing an organisation. Over the next year we intend to make an application to become a Scottish Charity and this will be a good opportunity to become familiar with this process. Early Intervention offers the opportunity to get involved with an organisation with plans to do great things to support neurodivergent children and their families. There is a great reward in being involved in this. Although experience of committee work is desirable, full training will be offered to interested suitable candidates. Committee Members

Relationships Scotland are Scotland's largest provider of relationship counselling, family mediation and child contact centres. Relationships Scotland - Couple Counselling Ayrshire are currently looking for committee members. We are ideally looking for individuals with a background in finance or law but would be open to other skills. Our meetings are currently held every 2nd month on a Friday afternoon. Volunteers will provide support and advice on our goals and activities and ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation. Committee members also ensure that the charity operates within its charitable purpose and complies with the requirements of OSCR. Our committee members are an essential and valued part of the team.
