Gardening Team Volunteer (Stenhousemuir/Larbert)

  • VO86862
  • Suitable for groups

Description

We hope that everyone has been enjoying the gardens and the floral arrangements in our Stenhousemuir and Larbert communities so far. As we come into early autumn we should start to consider preparing the gardens & tubs for the spring. There is still time to do that and as such we would like to invite the community to come together and join our already established team. This is much more than volunteering in the community, this is about being part of the community.

You do not have to be an experienced gardener or even have green fingers. We are simply looking for anyone who would like to come out on any day that suits them and work with our team. You will have a say on what goes in the ground, what and where our planters are placed and much more importantly, you will get to meet new people and make friends at our monthly meetings.

Organisation aims and objectives

KLSB are a local community group who were set up in March 2019 to help tidy up the green spaces of Larbert & Stenhousemuir. On our very first litter pick more than 40 volunteers came out in the rain and helped rid the local park of over 100 bin bags worth or litter as well as many other discarded items. We continue to plant and maintain various flower beds in the area plus we also run a community food pantry for vulnerable people and low income households.
