WAEML are launching an exciting new project, developing a women’s empowerment centre in Midlothian. We need a communications volunteer to tell everyone about it and to get our community excited and engaged!

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a communication role. You will help in developing the communications strategy, lead on creating a communications calendar, and be responsible for updating our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages. These are all great skills to put on your CV and show that you understand what it takes to develop an effective communications strategy.

The opportunity would see you joining a supportive and lively team, and we would all be there to support you and ensure you are getting the most out of your volunteering. You will be directly managed by one of our Trustee Directors and you will be working closely with our CEO and communications sub group.

We are looking for someone who understands the basic principles of gender equality and appreciate the sensitivities around domestic abuse and gender based violence. We are also looking for someone with experience in or an interest in online marketing, SEO, social media content development and management, and/or other relevant communication skills.

The role will require a commitment of 7 hours per month. Additionally you will be required to attend at least 3 of our Communications Group meetings per year, these are usually held early evening.

Deadline for registering your interest is 07/07/2021.
